The homeowner grew up summering in the existing dwelling and as they made plans for their retirement, knew they wanted to build a home they could live in full time.
The site is in the flood zone and the existing dwelling needed to be retrofitted to meet new flood plain regulations. We demo-ed the existing structure, but were able to re-use the existing foundation and pouring a new concrete stem wall that “lifted” the proposed framed structure out of the flood plain. The first floor plan is an open living, kitchen, dining plan room with a first floor bedroom and mudroom. The second floor has a loft and 2 bedrooms – each with views West Dennis beach.
